Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities
(API & Pharmaceutical Intermediates Manufacturing Company)
1. Sales Planning, Target Setting & Market Development
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets based on production capacity,
market demand, and business goals.
• Develop strategic sales plans for APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates in domestic
and export markets.
• Identify new business opportunities in pharma companies, contract manufacturers,
exporters, and traders.
• Explore new therapeutic segments and high-potential molecules.
• Conduct competitor analysis on pricing, product availability, quality, and market
positioning.
• Coordinate with production and procurement teams for demand forecasting and inventory
planning.
• Monitor market trends, raw material fluctuations, and regulatory developments affecting
product demand.
2. Product Detailing & Technical Presentation
• Present API and intermediate product portfolios to customers with complete
technical and commercial understanding.
• Share product specifications, COA, DMF status, impurity profile, stability data,
and regulatory compliance details.
• Prepare technical presentations, quotations, proposals, and product introduction
documents.
• Explain manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and plant infrastructure to clients.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and R&D teams for technical clarifications and customer queries.

Support customers during product trials, validation batches, and commercial
approvals.
3. Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with pharma companies, purchase teams, and key
decision-makers.
• Conduct regular customer meetings, follow-ups, plant visits, and business reviews.
• Develop long-term business partnerships through professional communication and
reliable support.
• Ensure customer satisfaction regarding quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
• Identify cross-selling and repeat business opportunities within existing clients.
• Maintain strong communication with export clients and international traders.
4. Negotiation & Deal Closure
• Handle commercial negotiations including pricing, payment terms, delivery
schedules, and contracts.
• Balance profitability with competitive market pricing.
• Coordinate internally for cost calculations and final commercial approvals.
• Resolve customer objections related to pricing, quality, lead time, and documentation.
• Close high-value and long-term supply agreements effectively.
• Support collection follow-ups and credit management in coordination with finance team.
5. Market Analysis & Customer Requirement Understanding
• Study pharmaceutical market trends, product demand, and competitor activities.
• Analyze customer purchasing patterns, annual consumption, and sourcing
preferences.
• Identify high-growth API and intermediate molecules f for business expansion.
• Gather market intelligence related to imports, exports, and pricing movements.
• Support management in identifying new products for development and
commercialization.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting pharmaceutical raw materials.

6. Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement
• Collect customer feedback regarding product quality, packing, documentation, pricing,
and service.
• Identify recurring complaints or improvement areas and coordinate corrective actions
internally.
• Share market feedback with management, QA/QC, production, and procurement
teams.

• Strengthen customer confidence through quick response and problem-
solving.

• Support continuous improvement in product quality and service standards.
7. Sales Monitoring & Management Reporting
• Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance against targets.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline, enquiry status, and order tracking records.
• Prepare MIS reports, sales forecasts, pending enquiry reports, and customer analysis
reports.
• Monitor order execution, dispatch status, and payment follow-ups.
• Present performance insights and business updates to management regularly.
• Use ERP/CRM systems for maintaining customer and sales data.
8. Coordination with Internal Departments
Purchase Team
• Coordinate for raw material sourcing, vendor availability, and cost
optimization.
• Support procurement planning based on confirmed orders and forecast demand.
Production & Planning
• Align production schedules with customer commitments and delivery
timelines.
• Coordinate batch planning for urgent and priority orders.

QA/QC & Regulatory
• Ensure timely availability of COA, specifications, validation documents, and
compliance-related data.
• Coordinate for customer audits and technical documentation requirements.
Logistics & Dispatch
• Monitor dispatch planning, shipment schedules, export documentation, and transportation.
• Ensure timely delivery and proper communication with customers.
Finance
• Coordinate for pricing approvals, payment terms, LC conditions, collections, and credit
limits.
9. Product Availability & Order Execution
• Monitor stock levels of APIs and intermediates to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams for timely product availability.
• Track orders from enquiry stage to dispatch and payment realization.
• Communicate lead times and delivery commitments clearly to customers.
• Handle urgent requirements and critical dispatches efficiently.
10. Strategic & Business Development Responsibilities
• Develop product positioning and branding strategies in pharmaceutical markets.
• Identify new APIs and intermediates for portfolio expansion.
• Explore opportunities with export markets and third- party manufacturing businesses.
• Participate in pharma exhibitions, CPHI events, and industry networking activities.
• Train junior sales staff on product knowledge, pharma terminology, and sales processes.
• Drive long-term business growth, profitability, and market expansion.
